Meditations for World Peace

  • Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland (map)

This class includes guided meditations, a teaching, and chanted prayers for world peace.

We can all do something to contribute to world peace! In this class, we are creating world peace in two main ways. We are making prayers together for world peace, and we are also creating inner peace. Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible. When we create peace within our own mind, it ripples out to create peace in our world.

Each week we explore a practical topic from Buddha's teachings, as presented in books by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Current series topic:

Staying Positive No Matter What Happens

Buddha advises us to “Rely upon a Happy Mind Alone”.  When we learn how to be our own protector we can stay positive and apply constructive solutions to the difficult situations we encounter in our daily life, at work and at home.

Making Work Meaningful

Coping with Change

Stopping Procrastination

Accepting Criticism

Triumphing over Discouragement
