Away Retreat in the Country: Awakening the Heart

  • Mar-Lu Ridge Retreat Center (map)

This retreat is now sold out:

Join us next year, May 3rd-5th!

At this retreat, people from DC, MD, VA, PA, & NJ will be gathering to enjoy meditation and visiting with each other in a relaxed country setting. This year we’ll be focusing on Awakening the Heart, through meditations on love, compassion, & wisdom.

Everyone wants to be happy and free from problems, but we often don't know how.  In Buddha's teachings on training the mind we find special instructions on how to develop and maintain a special experience of inner peace through increasing our love, compassion and wisdom.

In this weekend retreat we will be guided by the Mid-Atlantic teachers through a special set of meditations found within a text called "Training the Mind in Seven Points" and its commentary Universal Compassion by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, that helps us step by step to cultivate greater compassion and wisdom.

Through such meditations we'll develop a new way of looking at ourselves, others and the world around us and many of our daily difficulties and disturbances will be reduced.

Everyone welcome!
