Meditations for World Peace

  • Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland (map)

This class includes guided meditations, a teaching, and chanted prayers for world peace.

We can all do something to contribute to world peace! In this class, we are creating world peace in two main ways. We are making prayers together for world peace, and we are also creating inner peace. Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible. When we create peace within our own mind, it ripples out to create peace in our world.

Each week we explore a practical topic from Buddha's teachings, as presented in books by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Current series topic:

Infusing Our Life with Joy

In this series, we will explore how meditation can help you increase your joy in daily life, reducing worry and negative thinking. Approaching our daily life in a lighthearted and fun way results in increasing peace and happiness, and with a consistent meditation practice we can grow this ability.
