The Empowerment of Arya Tara: Liberation from Fear and Sorrow

  • Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland (map)

Arya Tara, or ‘Superior Liberator’, is a female Buddha who is the manifestation of the wind element of all the Buddhas. Because of this, if we rely upon Tara with strong faith she will quickly protect us from all fears and dangers, grant us her blessings and fulfil all our wishes. We particularly need her help in these difficult times.

She is also the manifestation of the ultimate wisdom of all the Buddhas. Receiving this empowerment gives us the opportunity to draw close to Mother Tara and empowers us to let go of our painful, repetitive ways of thinking about our self and the situations we find ourselves in.

Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Chogden will grant the empowerment of Enlightened Mother Arya Tara and give commentary to the practice of “The Yoga of Enlightened Mother Arya Tara: Self-Generation Sadhana” so we and others can continue to receive her special care, protection and blessings throughout this life, and life after life.

Note for those new to empowerments: The empowerment session is a blissful guided meditation through which we make a deep connection with Buddha Tara’s enlightened mind.
