Meditations for World Peace

  • Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland (map)

This class includes guided meditations, a teaching, and chanted prayers for world peace.

We can all do something to contribute to world peace! In this class, we are creating world peace in two main ways. We are making prayers together for world peace, and we are also creating inner peace. Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible. When we create peace within our own mind, it ripples out to create peace in our world.

Each week we explore a practical topic from Buddha's teachings, as presented in books by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Current series topic:

Free Yourself from Annoyance and Irritation

Anger has no function other than to cause us harm.  It makes our mind rough and uncontrolled, robs us of our happiness, and disturbs others.  Even the small anger of impatience and annoyance destroys our peace of mind and creates stress in our lives.  This series will help us to learn how to recognize, reduce, and even eliminate anger from our mind.
