Meditations for World Peace

  • Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland (map)

This class includes guided meditations, a teaching, and chanted prayers for world peace.

We can all do something to contribute to world peace! In this class, we are creating world peace in two main ways. We are making prayers together for world peace, and we are also creating inner peace. Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible. When we create peace within our own mind, it ripples out to create peace in our world.

Each week we explore a practical topic from Buddha's teachings, as presented in books by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Current series topic:

Breaking Bad Habits

Our unpeaceful states of mind that cause us to suffer and perform harmful actions are just bad mental habits, and like all habits they can be broken. Just as it is possible to separate mud from water, so it is possible to eliminate all of our bad habits from our mind.  Then there is nothing that can disturb our inner peace and joy.
